First off, the staff *seemed* to be nice people, but turned out to be fairly disorganized. When we arrived, we didn't realize that this hotel was also a liquor store and bar (with gambling), and that we could only enter with our kids from one entrance which had no reception, so we were not allowed to bring our kids inside to check-in (reception was at the bar) and were shouted out to leave with our kids (my son had to use the washroom in the restaurant bar when we arrived and apparently this was not allowed); this was jarring and confusing to us. We also ordered food from the restaurant bar and it took almost 2 hours to receive the full order. We were told that they were short staffed. Our room was ok, but was missing some light bulbs and was difficult to reach the electrical outlet as the room was lacking these. We had a coffee maker without any cups or coffee to serve ourselves with. We ordered housekeeping and was told that it may not be available, but they would try and told us they didn't want to clean our room in case we accused them of stealing our things. Then I finally convinced them to clean our room and when we returned later that day, they did not because according to them, we locked our room and they had no way of getting inside to clean (eyes rolling). Besides this, we were grateful for working air conditioning in our room and a fridge to use. The hotel itself is quite outdated and in need of a remodeling. We were thankful they let us use the laundry.
