The hotel has clearly been refreshed, which is always welcome. However, a few elements were overlooked. The room smelled strongly of paint (likely difficult to mask). Very tiny, difficult to find trash cans. One of the charging receptacles didn't work. The most egregious was the complete lack of blackout or privacy curtain. A semi-opaque screen was literally dangling by its top frame over the edge of the window valance. When I went to look for the typical blinds or secondary curtain, the screen fell on me. If it hadn't been so late when we arrived, I would have contacted the front desk -- but we were already so exhausted that we just rested the frame atop the valance and made sure we weren't exposing ourselves in the main room.
It was clean and linens were fresh; breakfast was consistently getting refilled despite a busy clientele. Night manager was friendly, too. Unfortunately, they were booked solid and it was clear that they needed the rooms turned fast; housekeeping was trying to get into them ASAP and there was no accommodation for late checkout.
Decent value for the money on a busy summer weekend; just needs a few details managed.
