I arrived and the reception was disappointing, miles away from what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. The check-in process took forever: they even asked for the names of the other people in my room, then charged for parking (20 $ or 30 $ for valet). I explained where my electric car was parked to the valet, but due to a lack of communication at the front desk, he kept trying to unlock another Tesla and called me multiple times.
When I got to the room, I was appalled by its outdated look and its basic shower-bath setup, far from the promotional photos—especially for a price nearing 300 $ a night. To top it off, the thermostat was set to 17 °C, and it wouldn’t heat any higher; no one came to fix it despite my first complaint. I had to go back downstairs to demand another room. Fortunately, the next one had working heat.
There was no sign of a water bottle or vending machine, no room service, and nothing in the mini-fridge. The next day, I noticed my car had only charged to 59 %, and then the valet drove it out onto the street at a dangerously high speed… Checkout was fine, but after all these disappointments, I’ve decided this was my last visit.
