We drove to Chicago so it was important for us to have free parking (Parking in the city is like $50 USD per day, even hotel parking). We found this hotel that was very cheap, had good rating and of course, the free parking.
Since it's better to move around in the subway when in Chicago, we drove to Forrest Park Station, left the car in the parking lot and took the subway into the city every morning.
We loved the cleanliness of the room and the bed was so comfortable. They have a laundry which we used, I felt very safe doing the laundry by myself at 1am. We didn't interact much with the staff but we have no complaints either.
Location is great because you have a Panera right across the street and a Half Priced Books and a few restaurants. Don't expect to find dining options late at night. We had to go to a Walmart to get sandwich stuff one late night.
