This lovely property sits on what appears to be a former estate in what looks to a former San Diegan to be mid- to late-century suburban area. The property has mature landscaping, gardens, walkway and a large pool. The room we had was freshly and tastefully appointed in a mostly consistent style. It was large with a large bathroom (in-tub shower), excellent bed, small writing desk with small chair. This particular room had an outstanding balcony that overlooked the pool. So lovely in fact that one is reluctant to mention the negatives. The staff was helpful, though English was not outstanding, and the availability of an excellent on-prem restaurant added to the convenience of its relatively proximity to MRS. That said, be advised that there is no elevator; carrying a 50 lb bag up the stairs to the 2nd floor substituted for an exercise room. The front gate (and front door of the facility) requires keyless entry & even with GPS you may drive by it a few times before discovering it. (If you drive into an adjoining apartment/condo complex on a dirt road, you just passed it). In our room, the bathroom had a window looking into the bedroom that may reveal makeup, shaving and other secrets of personal grooming. There was a small chair for the writing desk, but if a couple visits, one will be sitting on the bed.
