Our biggest disaster visiting Costa Rica.
Now this is advertised as Glamping, it was not. We check in the bathroom light did not work, owner said it would be fixed it was not fixed. I reminded him next day and it was fixed. The dishes were dirty, some of the kitchen utensils were rusty, worn pans, some basics missing. We requested housekeeping, none provided. I asked why next day owner seemed surprised it was not done. Issue is this is a small place only few rooms, should be easy to stay on top.
Located up some steep steps & up a narrow spiral staircase. Impossible to get your bags up to the room or if someone in your party cannot climb steep steps & go up a very narrow spiral staircase.
We were told there was soap in the bathroom, all we found was a bracket. I mentioned this to the owner again seemed surprised, I don’t think anyone checks up on the condition of the rooms before a guest arrives.
Main issue is we expected that someone would make sure we had a clean room the basics for our stay & that things worked.
Now I see updated photos that state Glamping Exp. Well Glamping still does not mean you don’t check before a guest arrives to make sure everything is clean, working and stocked as needed.
This could have been a good stay if some of the bare minimum points were hit, and this review would have been much different.
The room does have some excellent morning views. Again, some great potential here if only the basics were hit and not missed.
