If you're dreaming of a true luxury experience, keep dreaming — and maybe book somewhere else. The Liberty offers a beautiful lobby that gives you about five minutes of excitement before reality kicks in. Beyond that, it’s basically a standard business hotel wearing a very fancy price tag.
The rooms? Generic. The service? Hope you enjoy waiting — and guessing whether anyone will actually come back to help you. Breakfast? Let’s just say you’ll appreciate how character-building a bad Bloody Mary can be first thing in the morning. And if you were hoping for a deep, authentic Boston vibe... you’ll have better luck at the airport bar.
Spending around 150 nights a year in hotels, I don’t expect miracles — but I do expect to feel like I got what I paid for. Here, I left feeling like I accidentally bought a designer label... only to find out it was a knockoff.
The building itself is stunning and the location is great — it’s everything else that needs serious work. A grand lobby is nice, but a real luxury experience is about service, care, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, The Liberty misses the mark by a wide margin.
Bottom line: You deserve better. Your wallet deserves better. Your patience definitely deserves better.
