If you are looking for an escape from the hustle bustle of a typical touristy resort, then I highly recommend staying at Sandyport Beach Resort.
Hands down I have never experienced such caring, friendly customer service from all the staff members that work here. They absolutely do their best to give you red carpet treatment 24/7.
We booked a suite with a kitchenette which included a patio with a table that overlooked the canal. The room was very clean with daily cleaning service included. Included was a nice touch of two bottles of water everyday. The bed was incredibly comfortable. AC units worked flawlessly, even in this heat.
We choose to spend most days right here at the resort’s beach. Unlike every other resort where you need to run down to the beach or pool to claim your chairs and umbrella, that is not the case here. They have a private beach with only four umbrellas and thought that would be the case. When we eventually meandered to the beach, there was always an umbrella and chairs every time. They also have a few beds set off in the shade.
The only disappointment we experienced were the restaurants. Sandyport is a small community and there are only a few restaurants within walking distance (5-10 minutes max from the resort).
If you're looking for staff-directed, on-site daily activities at a resort then this is not the resort for you. You won't see any of that here. This is a quiet retreat for couples and families that just want to relax.
