We loved this hotel. Comfy beds, clean room, lovely staff.
If you are a railfan into transit or Amtrak, this is the place for you. Get a room with two queens on floors 3-6 and you will get great shots. Then, head to the roof deck for a view of the yard at Union Station. So great, and yet it’s also possible to sleep!
The only thing I would advise this hotel about are these: soundproof the bathroom. If you are sharing a room, from the room you will hear everything and I mean everything that happens in the bathroom. Hotels really have to get over the sliding barn door thing. Secondly, the drain in the shower, which is about 2 inches by 15 inches wide, is quite dangerous. I didn’t realize that it was set about an inch lower than the shower floor, and fell in the shower when I stepped back into it halfway. My heel slipped into the depression and I fell when I lost my balance as a result. I hate to mention it here because we otherwise loved this place, but it really should be changed. Also, hotels need to get over the rain shower head thing as well. They truly are awful for anyone short or with thick hair. It’s too diffuse by the time it gets to our head!
