I recently booked a short 2-night stay at the Mantra Sierra Grand in hopes of enjoying a relaxing getaway. Unfortunately, my experience was not relaxing as I had hoped. The amenities I was looking forward to using during rainy weather, specifically the indoor sauna and spa, were not functioning properly and out of action.
Additionally, my sleep was disrupted by government construction maintenance taking place during the early hours of the morning, from midnight to 4am. I was unaware of this issue, there was no communication from reception upon check in. I did not receieve acommunication from expedia. While I understand that this situation was beyond the hotel's control, I provided feedback on check out of my second night to the reception staff suggesting that guests be placed in rooms away from the construction noise on the opposite side of the hotel for a more restful experience.
I believe that more proactive communication or notification prior to the booking stay would have been beneficial in addressing this issue and providing a better solution for guest comfort. I was disappointed that the action of no verbal communication of construction and no changing of room location. Therefore resulting a horrible experiance. I am awaiting for the hotel manager to respond to my feedback.
