That the building is from yesteryear, there's no question, it only adds to ambiance of the experience. We were surprised and disappointed the ground floor restaurant and soda fountain were no longer in business, but the upstairs space to gather, play cards, visit or pick out the LP's of your choice (which we did with Elvis) made up for the missing soda fountain. The facility was very clean, rooms tastefully decorated, each in its own era and the kingsized mattress was probably the most comfortable sleep I've had in a long time. The bed linens allowed you to sink in and wander off to dreamland. Bath towels and accessories were huge and plush. The only disappointment in the bath was the shower; the shower head was too low and slow, hitting me in the chest and allowed only a faint spray of water. The room could be improved with small table next to the easy chair; you know, to put your coffee on while you're reading. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly return if chances allow.
