Wouldn’t stay again
I checked in at 3pm My room was 203 I tried to have a sleep as I have been travelling all day I could not sleep because their was a noise in the room which sounded like a spinning washing machine going all night untill 11pm Then started again at 6pm

Nice hotel, beware of parking charges
All staff were excellent. Especially the manager on duty at 6pm and the lady supervising the pool, she was exceptionally helpful. I have a mobility issues. I was shocked at having to pay to park my car for an overnight night stay. A first for me. Will give the hotel a miss next time for that reason.

Overnight stay
Arrived at tea time, check in straight forward member of staff very helpful, went to room very disappointed as it was a cold evening and room was very cold. Went for food was informed no need to book, wrong, eatery was packed only 1 wonky table available but was able to swap to another soon after ordering. Menu not great ok if you love burgers/pizza.. settled down for sleep around 10pm but must have been above or very close yo function room as DJ & music was extremely loud. Managed to fall asleep as we were exhausted. Woke late but breakfast still being served, enjoyed cooked breakfast whilst hubby had cereal and croissants. Didn’t feel rushed which was a bonus. Checked out at 11 and left. Overall stay was good unsure if we would stay again thought some of the party nights looked good.

Business trip
Booked the club room as previously stayed in village hotels and you used to get sky tv and an upgraded coffee machine. Neither available this time. Room looked tired although the bed was very comfortable.

Disappointing
Long walk to the room dingy corridors and smelt of cigarette smoke. Carpets need renewing and pillows was hard and bed not comfy. Small room and bathroom small no glasses in the bathroom. Hospitality tray not very well equipped. Thin walls making it very noisy. Not worth what we paid for the room allocated. Over priced and outdated!! £100 a night and not including breakfast for the room.

A bit annoyed. Made a mistake and booked the week after via hotels.com on a no refund rate. The hotel were inflexible about allowing me to adjust the date on the booking so I had to rebook and pay again. Parking charge of £5 a night was unexpected and unreasonable. Paid for an upgraded room with gym access, but shouldn’t have as you can just pay £5 to access the gym. Breakfast finishes quite early at 9:30am. Buffet was not replenished at 9am and nobody advised you can ask for eggs made to your liking. Rooms freshened up but a bit noisy. Food in restaurant decent but a bit over priced.

The reception team were amazing at helping me correct a mistake I'd made with my booking. Expedia were very unhelpful initially but after about an hour everything was sorted and I was tucked up in bed. Thank you to everyone who helped me.

This hotel is excellent and the staff are great, extremely helpful, and friendly. Sadly I observed that the reception staff have to stand up throughout their long shift, I think this is totally unnecessary and will inevitably end up harming their bodies as they age, hips, back and neck.

Won’t be using village hotels again
Myself and 2 kids ages 10 and 12 paid £120 for one night which is pretty expensive but the photos looked nice and the facilities. We were charged extra for use of the pool, which they accidentally charged me twice for. This was refunded however. The rooms are bog standard but clean. Upon returning to our room after using the pool in the evening, the key card didn’t work. Our room was quite a distance from the reception so I headed back down and was given a replacement card. Went back to the room, the card still didn’t work so I made my way back to reception again. I’m heavily pregnant and was feeling a bit off at this point, I just wanted to lie down. A member of staff then had to accompany us back up to the room to change the batteries on the door. The family changing rooms at the pool are tiny with a toilet in them and the floor was covered in pee and stunk. The second time using the pool I didn’t feel well enough to swim but sat at the side and watched my kids have a swim. It lasted 10 minutes before they were kicked out because I wasn’t in the water with them. There is no deep end. The depth is 1.2 metres. They’re able swimmers and can easily stand in the water. Several staff remembers stood watching for safety and me keeping an eye on them. Breakfast would’ve been an additional £30 on top of the £120 for the room so we didn’t bother. Not the worst hotel I’ve been to but certainly won’t be using village hotels again.
