If nothing else, the very basic expectation of a clean bed and toilet are surely non negotiable. The bedsheets also had marks on. I am sure the hotel would say we should have asked to change room, but if your hotel is in a position where guests must do this because bathroom has not been properly sanitised, then housekeeping standards need to be improved. Though some maintenance issues can be forgiven, the rusty marks on the bath and dirty shower curtain only added to the lack of charm. The coffee machine had also not been cleaned and the filter tray had detritus in it. Breakfast was mediocre with tasteless coffee, no fruit, lots of plastic and polystyrene plates and bowls, which cannot be excused. In general, the place needs cheering up and for standards to be higher.
