We have been staying at Hilton in Las Cruces for a few years.
We've celebrated our grandsons birthdays at the pool/patio area. They love it!
We have 5-8 people total. We have sandwiches, chips, fruit, water, cokes, & cake/cupcakes.
We have fun & clean up after ourselves.
Again, we've done this multiple times- last time was 6/2025.
We planned it again for 8/2025 - our grandsons 6th birthday. He was SO looking forward to having his party next!
We planned, purchased all we needed, spent time & money driving 5hrs from our home in AZ, paid for 3 nights at the Hilton, & took time off work to celebrate this special day at what was our favorite hotel.
On 8/16/25, at approximately 11:30am my family and I started to take things from our room to the patio only to be stopped by the receptionist, informing us that such a thing was not allowed and never has been as per hotel policy.
We shared with her that we were not aware of this supposed policy as we had done this multiple times before. We asked to see the policy but she could/would not produce it. We looked online but did not find it anywhere.
We assured her it would be a very small celebration and we would keep everything clean, as we have in the past.
She said NO-no outide drinks or food were allowed. We pointed out there were multiple guests out there now with outside food
& drinks. She threatened to call security on us for questioning.
We abided by the supposed rule.
Our grandson was crushed!!
We will NOT be staying there again.
