The apartment itself is old, but is clean and would usually be acceptable for a short stay. The bunk beds would be unsafe for little children, as they are right underneath an overhead fan, which is needed as the rooms are stuffy.
Unfortunately the property had NO POWER for nearly our entire duration, including overnight. Energex arrived, and wanted to hook up a temporary generator, but the buildings electrician was uncontactable. Hence, no power overnight. No lights, no appliances, inability to charge phones. My 2 little ones were terrified. Raised issue with Expedia, but owner has refused to offer any form of refund. The owner seems to think we shoud still pay full price. We were only seeking partial refund, which seems very reasonable in the circumstances. Will be raising a case to ACCC.
