First the good points:
The beach is nice and the airconditioning works.
On an international basis this hotel would barely get 4 stars. It wasn’t particularly clean. One look behind the mattress ( which I always do to be sure there are no bed bugs) revealed loads of hair, dead insects and blossoms which the Hotel use as their decoration for the bed. In the closet wears trash from the previous guests which convinced me that no one cleaned the room properly after the last visitor. There was no “please don’t disturb” sign available and staff came a lot to ask for several things ( in a country that has high risk for malaria you want to keep the doors closed, the most ridiculous visit was from a guy, at night who wanted to spray my room with pest control spray. First of all, this visit did the opposite, let mosquitoes in, and what was he thinking? Spraying the room while I’m in there???) not even telling the staff from the front desk, to please not do my room helped.
Topic “hygiene”:
I only ate and drank in the hotel. No salad, no fruit no ice cubes, still I ended up with having the runs with fever…
