great hotel in a great location
very comfortable hotel walking distance of cathedral. lots of people on this route because of all the stores, so it seemed safe even in the evening. right next to metro station which made it convenient for getting to zapopan and tlapapaque. special shout out to the man at the lectern in the lobby. friendly greeting every time you entered the hotel

The staff was pretty friendly. The building and rooms were clean and tidy. It’s in a prime location and is very walkable. There was a flea market that was held in the area in front of the hotel to the side where the park is as well, couldn’t hear any noise from the room as we were located in the back.

We have stayed at the Portobello several times. The room we stayed in this time seemed newly redone, I loved the room, mirrors, bathroom and bed was good too. It can get loud due to the traffic, but that’s Guadalajara. Their breakfast is pretty good with several options. It is walking distance to downtown. All in all we totally recommend the Portobello.
