We've stayed at Somerset properties in different cities throughout China and I'd say this one was a little below my expectations. As a serviced apartment, it checks the boxes. But we had expectations of a more luxurious feel that we've had from other Somersets, and this one didn't have it. The issue I took with it is how dated it is. This wasn't just the room itself, but the entire property. The location is prime, no doubt. You are super close to two subway stations (Huaxiba and Jinjiang stations on line 1). Taking a walk along the Nanhe river is fantastic, and of course, China, including Chengdu, is incredibly safe. So in terms of transportation, culture, and how walkable it is, it's a great hotel in a great spot. But the hotel itself felt like the "boss" wasn't too interested in putting in those touches that other Somersets have. Small things like the hair dryer being old, the hand lotion was awful, no bar soap (just re-fillable bottles), water stains in the ceilings, and our room - a penthouse - was so bare bones and void of any character. It was just a big place to stay. Nothing else.
