The Apu Lodge garden in Ollantaytambo was one thing that was welcoming, along with the hammock, and the surrounding view. The flowers and color of the surrounding made it relaxing. Very private property. Good hot water and pressure on the shower. No wifi in bedrooms, no tv, the bed wasn't too bad, the bedroom size was acceptable. There really was nothing on the service that stands out. They do have breakfast included. If bed and room is all you need, it's a good place to get a goodnight sleep, quiet, and away from town, right at the foot of the mountain. Do not expect to get a ride right to the front door, you walk to find the place. About 5-10 minutes walk to town center. No ride can get here. That's part of the culture, you don't get the convenience here like you get in the states and other city hotels. Get to town for early dinner before dark if you are not comfortable walking in the dark. No crime detected. It's a pretty little town.
