Sublime Samana truly lives up to its name when it comes to the stunning grounds and serene beachfront location. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, with lush landscaping and easy access to the pristine beach, making it a wonderful retreat for those looking to relax in a tranquil setting.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, but at times, it felt like they needed more training—simple requests often led to confusion. While their warmth and kindness made up for some of the hiccups, better training would enhance the overall guest experience.
However, my biggest disappointment was the mattress. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected a five-star sleep experience, but unfortunately, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. A good night’s sleep is one of the most important aspects of a luxury hotel stay, and this fell short.
Another issue was the bathroom lighting, which was way too dim. Getting ready in such poor lighting was frustrating, and it’s something that should be an easy fix in a high-end hotel.
The dinner restaurant was also a letdown. We tried it the first night and never went back. The menu was very limited and significantly overpriced, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Living in the DC metro area, I’m used to high prices, but these felt unjustified.
