Beaumont House really disappointed us!
We were extremely disappointed with Beaumont House .. first impression of the details listed for the accommodation are 5 star with breakfast and an off-site health club with spar etc. The reality was quite different and extremely disappointing!
Firstly, the breakfast was continental, but the most limited continental we have ever experienced! Some assorted cheap cereal, a bowl of mixed tinned fruit, jams & marmalades, rather cool toast ... but nothing nice e.g. croissants hams, cheeses etc., a rather mean version of continental! An upgrade to full English was either £20 or £30, dependant on whether pre-booked!
The Spar / pool and health club was to our shock and dismay a couple of miles away and nearly 30 minutes walk (we had not travelled by car!) A none-entity to us! We had incorrectly assumed it would be nearby!
It was a special occasion for my wife & I, so we decided to treat ourselves to a room upgrade, and paid substantially for a 'Deluxe room' We found ourselves in a loft room on the 3rd floor (no lift)with a bathroom built into the room (absorbing aprox/ a third or more of our room! There was not much room left .. and with a sloping ceiling low over our heads, it was certainly a huge disappointment, If this room was 'deluxe', in a 5* premises, I would hate to have seen the standard room? I also found the double bed disappointing, too firm, pillows felt hard and worn out as did the alleged 'thick pile luxury carpet!
The door handle to the integral bathroom was loose.
