This hotel is within walking distance of Khao San road, but far enough for it to be a more quiet neighborhood where you can actually sleep. It is quite far from the metro stations, so to explore the city you have to take a taxi (and endure the horrible traffic) or the express boat on the river (the pier is about 10 min walk).
The room was OK: it was clean, had a big bed, AC, minifridge & safe. However, we had issues with the bathroom: the first room we were put in didn't have hot water, so after one night we were transferred to another room. In this one the water worked, but there were no toiletries (no soap, shampoo or toilet paper) and we only got hand towels on the first day. The staff was only marginally helpful, and often forgot/ignored the requests we made. It would have been a much better experience if the staff actually tried to solve our issues right away.
Other than that, the breakfast was OK (you can have coffee or tea, juice, fruit, toast & jam, eggs, sausages, etc), and wifi worked fine. There is also a taxi service to/from the airport that costs 500 baht (i.e. exactly what you are asked as a deposit when checking in). All in all, it was an OK place to crash for the night, but you can probably do better for the same price.
