Ok, I guess...
Difficult to find the "right" reception. Picture of the hotel is a bit deceiving as we were offered a room in the annex(ex olympic accomodation). This was not clear in the advert. Room was clean, but internet did not work.

Great spot for an overnight break
A little confusing upon arrival, but we were late getting there and reception was closed. All sorted within a few minutes and we were shown to our “Dormitory”…. Unfortunately all the rooms in the main building were full. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. In the morning, it was a real treat to see the beautiful grounds & next time we visit we’ll allow more time to explore. Electric car chargers supplied by PodPoint… not sure on the rate. Finally, if you leave hungry after the breakfast then you haven’t tried!

Not what we booked spoiled it really
Stay was ok for one of us and worse than a travel lodge for the other. Booked 2 double business rooms but what we got was a room in the basement very small and low end and the other room was similar to what I thought I booked but 2 single beds rather than a large double. If I had got what I had booked it probably would have been good.

September stay
Beautiful place to stay. However the restaurant was fully booked the day we arrived and closed the second day due to a wedding. We were not informed the restaurant would be closed. The noise from the wedding was very loud and kept us awake. There was hardly ever anyone on reception which meant we had to keep going to find someone if we needed them.

The room was a good walk away from reception down a number of steps. In the room the lamp had no bulb in it, the side lights didn't work either and tv remote also didn't work. By the time this was noticed I was settled in the room so unable to do anything about it, no phone in the room and no phone reception on mobile.

A great place to stay and a wonderful welcome.
Hotel was great - the staff very friendly and helpful and gave us a good welcome. The room was clean and had everything in it we would want. The breakfast was excellent and there was everything we could want and, of course, endless coffee etc.

Very happy with the hotel generally but I was staying in room 205, and when I entered the room both the bathroom window, and the bedroom window were covered in flies. I set to with a towel and killed nearly all of the flies, and brushed them in a small area under the window. I assumed these would be cleared when the room was services, but was disappointed to find the same fly graveyard intact when I got back the following evening. The bed was made and the towels changed so the room had been serviced but not cleaned. I have photos of the fly collection but the app will not allow me to upload them Also the window frame was rotten, and there was very little water flow from the tap in the sink. Excellent pressure in the bath tap not 2 feet away though !?

Messed about
Booked a superior duluxe double room, to be told it wasn’t available due to maintenance. Then moved to a sports room ( premier inn style) beyond basic. Asked at the other reception about the room maintenance, knew nothing about it, essentially double booked rooms and I got the crap end of the stick

We had the most delightful stay here whilst waiting for our house to be finished. It really feels like home from home yet outstanding service and grounds. My little girl told everyone she was staying in a castle 😂. We would love to come back. Big shout to the lovely lady who checked us in, so sorry we didn't get her name and Natalia from housekeeping. Amazing hotel and service
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights to make a weekend away out of a competition event my partner was taking part in. We were very impressed with how picturesque the hotel venue was, as well as the room in itself. We booked a superior double room and it definitely lived up to the name, with a spacious bedroom , bathroom and living room space. The booking came with breakfast which offered plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The staff were very helpful in assisting to any query and request ( for example we needed an iron during our stay which wasn’t in the room and someone came around with an iron and ironing board within minutes). The location is slightly secluded , which can be a positive or negative, depending on what individuals are looking for. The bar and cafe area around the corner offers a selection of food and drink at reasonable prices for lunch etc during the day and the hotel itself does have a lunch service / menu in place. For those competing / involved in sports however ( and this is not a criticism of the hotel, just something that came as a shock to me about the venue as a whole) it’s not possible to really buy any sports nutrition near the venue, which I would assume would be one place to find it.
