Before check-in, the hotel's management called to ask me to stay at another Ibis hotel. I followed their instructions and checked into a room with a broken drainage system that caused a nightmare and ruined my stay.
First things first, when I checked in, Olympic Park's hotel management wanted me to pay $10 for parking without telling me in advance. The staff said it was the same for Enfield but I stayed there before and it had free parking. I paid with disappointment.
When I finished showering, my slippers were floating and the water went beyond the bathroom area and flowed through the bedroom carpet. The drain on the floor outside the bathroom failed to take in the water rapidly enough. The wash basin drain had pretty much the same issue.
I tried to calm myself down and built a water-absorbing fortress with dry towels. It significantly slowed the water's invasion of the bedroom section but did not completely stop the disaster, so I went to the reception for help and prayed that this would not become dramatic.
Thankfully, the front desk was super friendly and helpful with the male staff immediately proposing to offer a new room. He also explained to me that Enfield oversold and had to transfer me to Olympic Park. Fortunately, the new room was okay.
Ibis has deeply disappointed me this time. I expected a normal budget hotel but received an unwanted transfer, extra parking charge and catastrophically poor facilities. Even a pub hotel could do better. Come on, Ibis! Improve
