When we checked into the room there were flies all over the walls and a live cockroach. They offered another room but we declined after the initial experience.
Tried reaching out to the hotel twice about even some sort of partial refund after dealing with Hurricane Beryl but they never replied and just took our money without even responding.
In all fairness, the girl at the front desk was very helpful and apologetic. But even Expedia reached out to the manager and they decliend any sort of refund. I understand they offered another room, but after a long day traveling, we didnt want to risk another room in that somewhat run down motel.
The low score isn’t simply for the room, I understand this is Texas, and this stuff can happen with bugs, it’s more so for the complete lack of communication.
