Despite some shortcomings, I would 1000% stay here again and really look forward to coming back. The owner is a wonderful, older gentleman who just exudes love, grace and courtesy from every fiber of his being. He waited outside the villa to greet me and help guide me into the parking spot, gave me great recommendations for dinner, and treated me like family. It was such a wonderful, loving experience that I want to bring my family back.
The location is great if you want to explore Split's old town, as it's a short walk to the Riva and Diocletian's Palace.
Yes, the room is small. Yes, the blankets are somewhat worn but extremely clean. Yes, the towels are worn and stiff from being line dried instead of fluffed in a dryer. Yes, the room was cold despite the heater going full blast all night.
However, when I overslept and missed checkout, the owner greeted me with a smile and told me not to worry. He let me park the car in the parking space after checkout so I could explore the city. When I returned, he guided me when I was pulling the car out. He offered me use of his bathroom, asked me if I needed anything for my next journey (water, etc.), and waved goodbye as I drove away. It really felt like I spent a night at my loving Italian grandpa's house and I want to go back.
