We enjoyed our stay, but I do wish the place was a little cleaner. The shared bathroom (upon our arrival) had small hairs all over the sink and vanity like someone had emptied their electric shaver over it. Also, the doors to the rooms, including the shared bathroom, have no locks on them. The breakfast was very filling, and Mary (the hostess) was nice to talk to.

Not as expected
We're not sure how accurate the description of this B&B is on the website but it seems like this venue needs some TLC. We were very disappointed when we arrived in that it was apparent that our room was someone's personal bedroom with all their affects still in place. Needless to say, it made us VERY uncomfortable plus the house needed a good cleaning. We love dogs and theirs seemed very sweet(& elderly) but there was a strong odor throughout in addition to a musty, mildewy one. We decided we couldn't stay there and were able to find another hotel in town. We were in Muscatine to visit friends. Unfortunately, it was too late to cancel so we had to pay for the room. The owner did not offer any partial discount even though the room we booked was not acceptable for paying guests.

We were disappointed for the following reasons, hostess was barefoot all the time, hostess controlled the conversation all the time, cobwebs all over, only had one washcloth for the two of us. The breakfast was very Very good and very generous portions.

Great B&B
Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed their "official greeter" dog. She escorted us to the truck and back as we were unpacking. Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and the location was near where we were going to worship service on Sunday morning after checkout (Muscatine church of Christ just a few blocks away).

Restful and relaxing, and an awesome breakfast! The rooms are not huge, and the floors creak - yes, but that is part of the charm. We stayed in the room pictured. You'll be greeted by Maggie, the golden retriever, and from there on, you'll forget about the world around you.

Pleasant stay & wonderful host.
Comfortable, quiet, private, pleasant stay in late 1800's farm house. Great conversations with owner Karl with very extensive diverse life experiences, and very knowledgeable about the area. Very good breakfast including multiple choices for items and time.

Had the best time there!
What a wonderful place to stay at! Besides a lovely property and decor, full of warmth and old charm, Strawberry Farm bed and breakfast has the most adorable host you'll ever meet. Thank you Karl for a delightful stay, for treating us like kings with your delicious breakfasts and enlightening company. I miss it all already, lol! And Muscatine is a pretty cool town by the majestic Mississippi River, so you can't go wrong with this B&B choice.

Charm in Muscatine
Strawberry Farm is matched in charm only by its lovely host and hostess, Karl and Linda. Fueled on homemade breakfast and great conversation, we were on the soccer field in under 10 minutes without having to get on the bypass. Clues provided over excellent coffee led us to find some hidden treasures between games in Muscatine. My daughter (Rylie) and I had never tried a BnB on soccer trips before but will return "home" to Strawberry Farm the next time we're in Muscatine.

Like Home and Family!
Our stay was just wonderful. My husband and I were in town for only a couple of days, but even in that short period of time, Linda and Karl (the innkeepers) made us feel like we were part of their family and that we were coming home for a visit. Upon our arrival we were very warmly welcomed and shown to our room, and given a bit of information about he area, including some restaurant recommendations, which turned out to be great! The breakfast that we enjoyed on each of the two mornings was far beyond our expectations! And we were so thrilled when the innkeepers themselves sat and visited with us over breakfast! What a lovely couple and a beautiful old farmhouse! We look forward to returning in the future with our kids, so they can meet what feels like our new Iowa family!
