For 3 consecutive days restaurant didn’t have what we asked for. Either they need to update the menu or keep in stock what they offer on it. We ordered food at lunch and took 1 hour to be delivered. We had to leave without eating because had plan a boat toor.( we informed them before ordering and they insured us we had enough time) The place needs to be upgraded. We got the terrace suit which was in very bad shape for the price they ask for. Friendly staff but very bad management. Overpriced for the service they offer.

I can't say enough great things about this place! It sits right on a beautiful beach, and the rooms are new and very clean. The AC in the rooms works very well, which you want in this humidity. The staff is excellent - friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant is amazing. I highly recommend this hotel!

The views were gorgeous and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff was wonderful. We had expected that there would be other restaurants and more to do on the island and we did not have an easy time navigating a snorkel experience. But we had a very relaxing, and restful stay. Bring a water filter as the water on the island is not drinkable and buying all your water is expensive, as are the meals. But the hotel itself was lovely and the beach was absolutely beautiful.

The property is simple and nice. You can't beat the location! Being right on the beach was fabulous. There were plenty of beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas available and staff were eager and happy to set them up for us. Breakfast was included (fruit, eggs/omelet, juice, coffee) at the restaurant onsite. We did lunch one day at the beach bar and dinner one night in the restaurant. The food was average/good and seemed to be typical prices for an island. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Had a great stay in the family suite at Mar y Oro! The staff was friendly and helpful. They arranged for taxis for us when needed, and were always available to answer questions. The views from the hotel, and the beach by it are perfect. The room is basic, but serves its purpose. Food options are the same everyday at the hotel restaurants, and are on the pricier end. Drinks were great. There are other restaurants you can go to on the island. We had one night where a guest was playing really loud music till late into the night, and we could hear every single bit of it - that was really our only complaint.

Great room, crapy general areas of the hotel
The hotel is amazing, the chef is extraordinary, rooms are in great condition and very clean, but the checkout time is very early and the general area conditions of the hotel are very crapy. The bathroom is very old, has no light and no place to take a bath after the sea. So if you expect to have a nice time in the sea while you leave the hotel is not an option.
