My experience at the Mandeville Hotel was somewhat peculiar. Given that we arrived before our check-in time, I understood why we were told we could not check in until 2:00 p.m. and that we would have to pass the time in the intense heat driving around the town until then. Once we checked in, we found that the rooms were dilapidated, had no refrigerator or TV, old bed linens, and pillowcases that were torn and hand-tied back together. Things were broken and falling apart, such as the closet door. Having no hot water for showering was the hardest part. I was informed that I would have to wait until the next morning till maintenance arrived before they could finally provide hot water to our room, after much back and forth with the front desk they eventually got us hot water. You must ask for an iron and board at the front desk if you need to iron your garments. A further observation I made four days into my stay was that someone had entered my room after we had left for the afternoon, eating all of my biscoff cookies and leaving the empty wrapper in the plastic bag that they were in. One of us had $50 gone from our purse. There was no safe available to keep items in. The only thing about the hotel that we truly liked was the breakfast, which we really appreciated. Although I didn't have a nice stay, I opted to depart one day early after my belongings began to disappear. I asked for a day reimbursement but none was provided.
