Lovely hotel which we used to see the area. Quite plain on the outside , but lovely lounge and dining area with tartan carpet. The staff were all friendly and helpful , especially the receptionist with the dark hair in a plait. The room was a good size and overlooked the garden. The mattress topper on the bed kept moving and creasing making for an uncomfortable sleep. The bathroom was clean but I prefer a shower, as the bath was a bit old.
The food we received was not too good. At breakfast there was not a lot of choice if you did not want a hot breakfast. No musli, bran flakes or fresh fruit etc. The yogurts were good. We had 3 breakfasts and they ran out of brown bread, potato cakes and peppermint tea. We had dinner the first night , but I found the chicken and risotto overcooked and dry.
