We traveled throughout Thailand for a month, and Ko Lanta was the last week. Arthaya Villas is an exceptionally quaint and excellent place to stay on Ko Lanta. This is a new, small boutique with only six individual villas. The entire place is beautifully designed inside and out, with clean modern detailing. Regardless of its impeccable austere aesthetic, it is as comfortable as you could ever hope. The landscaping is carefully designed and with stunning execution, especially for a facility that is so new. Beautiful pool. The design of this facility is perfect, if you appreciate a tranquil, modern aesthetic. The villas are centrally located on the island, so you can travel south or north very easily.
The staff is wonderful, especially the owner Ya. She is smart, helpful, and speaks excellent English. She can arrange everything you wish to do on Ko Lanta; snorkleing, cooking classes, transportation. Additionally, I got sick from eating in Saladan (NOT related to this villa at all, I'm sure of it) and Ya and her staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help comfort me. They went so far as to bring me medicine and special food from the kitchen to my room. I will never, ever forget the kindness and compassion I was shown.
Tuk-tuks and red-cars go by all the time, hailing transportation never took us more than 5 minutes, day or evening. Beaches are 10 minutes away in both directions.
Great breakfast and lunches in the cafe. Excellent coffee.
