The property is really well located, both for access into Keswick and for walking in the Lakes.
The apartment was really well sized and the kitchen, bedding, towels etc. were very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and more in terms of appliances and utensils; something which can be a rarity in holiday lets.
On the less positive side - yes, the apartment was very dated. We didn’t see the decor as a problem, especially as it is dog friendly. However, there’s clearly work to be done. The boiler was in a cupboard in the bedroom and was noisy. For all the work it was doing the heating never up above the mid teens (despite the thermostat being set and the radiator thermostats being checked). The hot water was also very intermittent.
It rained heavily and some water came in through the wall in the lounge. This looked to be an issue with the guttering.
The hotel look to be updating the property, and took my maintenance related comments on board, so hopefully they will be resolved.
The price, location and size of the apartment, plus all the amenities, made it a good value for money stay. We will be back and hope to see a few more improvements next time.
