Twice now I’ve booked in here only to be shunted off to a room in an HMO somewhere else. Why take bookings if you don’t have rooms?

6/10 Good

It was ok. However, there was a family with children next door who woke me up very early in the morning when preparing for school.

Cheap & well located,
Basic but good, i found it good value and close enough to the Elizabeth line to connect into the city, a little rough around the edges but for £44 a night it's not the ritz,

Worth the price
The room was tidy, and the location is conveniently near all the amenities. We didn’t eat the breakfast but the stay was good for the price.

1/5 - Disappointing Experience with Hidden Fees
I booked a room at Woodlands Hotel, only to be surprised with a £100 cash deposit requirement upon arrival. This policy was not disclosed during the booking process, which I believe is unacceptable. As a consumer, I expect transparency in pricing and policies. Hiding such a significant requirement until check-in is unfair and feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. I cancelled my booking and went to a nearby Travelodge instead. I'm still awaiting a refund for my original booking. To potential guests, beware of Woodlands Hotel's hidden fees. To the hotel management, I suggest revising your policy to clearly disclose all requirements upfront

2/10 Poor

Uncomfortable and Weird
Unfortunately the room did not match how the hotel is advertised on the website. The place was really unclean, there was mildew on the bed covers and the property stunk of weed. The bathroom was shared, which was not as described and it was also extremely unclean and very poorly maintained. The room we were given was in a conpletely seperate building which was basically a house about fiften doors down from the main building, which again is not as described on the website. Facilities were reslly lacking, and didn't match the pictures shown on the website. There was no tv in the room, and the room was extremely basic. Would not reccomend this to anybody and we actually ended up leaving without staying the night as we felt so uncomfortable.

Would really recommend. Not too far from Ilford underground. Parking available.

2/10 Poor

Don't book there.
The front desk employee who greeted me was rather cold and unfriendly. He asked me to pay 100 pounds as a safety deposit, but his machine couldn't read my card, so he asked me to "find a bank and withdraw cash." There were no banks nearby and it was pouring down rain. I had to go twice and spend 25 minutes in the rain to get the money. The "breakfast" consisted of two cereal containers, white sliced bread, and a few boiled eggs. It was very little and not appetizing. The "dining room" was untidy and unwelcoming.
André, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The place is an absolute steal at that price. Was dreading it to be honest because it was ridiculously cheap but all 4 off is were very well surprised. Staff were helpful (even though we couldn't get extra pillows). We didn't eat breakfast but at that price, it doesn't matter. Only 10 minute walk to the station and less than an hour to all the major attractions in London. For people on a budget this place is an absolute must. Anyone slating this place needs to remember how little they paid to stay, in London!

2/10 Poor

Worst room i have ever stayed in
One of the worst rooms i have ever stayed in. Room was affordable for one night in london so it was booked. The pictures of the room looked nice but i was greeted with the exact opposite. Carpets were old and dirty with edges of the floor exposed. The room smelt of an unpleasant odour. The walls had damp. The foundation of the bed was stained. Only access to the room was a patio door which was difficult to open. Most of the electric ports didn’t work, the TV had no remote so I couldn’t use it. There was a fridge that was in the center of the room which was turned off, when i opened it, a terrible smell filled the room. The aircon was loud and i assume i was adjoined to another room as there was movement that kept me up throughout the night. I felt so uncomfortable and got no sleep. I was asked to give a £100 security deposit for this room which is estimated i would not get back for 14 days. I understand you get what you paid for but this is not what was advertised on the listing. Would not recommend staying here.

Leila, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Budget priced but reasonable, clean tidy room. Breakfast was quite poor. Some long term residents thought they 'owned' facilities like bathrooms. Payment was difficult.

8/10 Very good

The accommodation itself was clean and really okay for the price. Breakfast was included, but it couldn’t really be called breakfast. You had to do everything yourself. There were only packaged foods available. Toast, jam, butter, milk, and cereal. You even had to wash the dishes afterwards. It was about a 10-minute walk from the subway to the accommodation, which was great. However, in the neighborhood, around 6 PM, there were almost only men, which we found a bit uncomfortable. The city center was about 50 minutes away by subway. From Heathrow Airport, you could take the Elizabeth Line directly.
