The lowest ranking is given solely due to the design of the room we had which should never have been given to a couple. The hotel is modern, secure, well located and there are lots of restaurants available.
The room we were given, 611, was by far the smallest we had at any of the ten hotels we stayed in during our holiday in South Africa. However, the worst feature was the fact that the toilet, washbasin and shower were integral to the bedroom.
Even though the toilet and shower were surrounded by opaque glass you could still see a person inside. This was particularly the case when the lights were on. Obviously there were gaps so that the doors could be opened and closed. This meant that you could see and hear everything the person was doing.
Even worse the light switches turned all the room lights on and off at once. Therefore if you needed to get up during the night you had to turn all the lights on, thereby waking your partner up so that they could "enjoy" the experience of you using the toilet!
The room would be fine for single occupancy, which judging from there being only one glass is how it is normally used. However, why anyone should think such a room is suitable for two is incomprehensible to me.
On our second evening we were offered a different room but we had to leave early the next day so did not take up the offer. So rooms which are not like what I have described are available if you decide to stay here.
