For a hotel at this price range, the service we encountered at check-in, and several other occasions, was completely unacceptable. The check-in staff was particularly unprofessional and rude. Our experience was as follows:
* When we arrived there was no-one at reception.
* After a few minutes a lady appeared. She did not smile, say welcome, or apologize, just asked us for our passports in a demanding manner.
* After a long time she printed several papers and told each of us to sign one. No "please" or "thank you".
* She gave us our room cards, then took them back, then gave us new ones, then took those back. It seemed she didn't know what she was doing, but instead of apologizing, she made us feel like we were bothering her.
* Eventually, a male staff came and sorted things out. Half an hour had passed at this point.
* One of our rooms was booked as two twins but it was set up as king. The occupants had to wait 20 minutes for housekeeping to prepare it.
* The keys to a room didn't work. They were programmed incorrectly.
* In the morning one of us arrived at the restaurant before breakfast started. A restaurant worker was sleeping on a couch outside the restaurant.
On the plus side, the male staff member was polite and apologetic, and the views from our room were very nice. The owner helped us in a small way, but it couldn't make up for the awful and humiliating experience.
