Not much negative to say about Isabela Suites themselves. Well within walking distance of the sights, restaurants in the Casco Antiguo, a relatively small area. Much of the area (old buildings, some just façades) is being rebuilt. Building in front of our balcony was just being emptied. Narrow streets and sidewalks with very few places to park, but there are always taxis/Uber. The suites have no real lobby (so we had to coordinate to meet/say good-bye to friends on the narrow sidewalk after inviting them up), a restaurant immediately next door (separate from the suites, didn’t get to try it, though it looks inviting and is said to have a good chef), and no access to the swimming pool that is part of their single rooms a few blocks away. Had a full kitchen with utensils, but for two of us, the suite was a bit underused. There is an outside shower in the private patio (shared by two suites), but we used the indoor facilities. Despite my liking design, the trough-type sink left little room for essentials at hand (fhough ample room below the sink). The main room has a iPad for communication, but no phone. The staff downstairs had to lend us a cell phone to call friends. Good wifi, TV (Netflix, etc), air conditioning. The person picking us up at airport was pleasant and informative (as a foreigner too). No elevator to two upper floors. Staff was informative, but suite special packages were a bit pricey, so we did it on our own. Enjoyable stay at the Suites.
