We are a family of four, with a 12 year-old and a 14 year-old. We stayed for 5 nights in the Tucan suite (3rd floor).
I had done a lot of research prior to coming, and it was really important that our room had a great view of the treetops. Jungle Vista did not disappoint, as one entire side of our suite was basically a viewing area to the lush greenery outside. Within a few minutes of hanging out by the balcony, we were able to spot numerous capuchin monkeys and howler monkeys leaping from branch to branch. We didn't see other kinds of animals, but perhaps we might have if we brought binoculars.
The temperature in the room can be adjusted to your liking. We shut off the a/c if we wanted to keep the glass doors open; and when it got too warm, the a/c cooled the suite down quickly.
The master bed was very comfortable: the mattress was firm but not too hard. My husband thought the pillows were a bit flat, but I found them okay.
My son slept on the couch (which converted to a bed), while my daughter slept on the mattress that had to be pulled out from underneath the couch. They didn't complain about the sleep, but whenever we sat on the couch, the seat/mattress kept sliding out from under us, and that was annoying.
The Tucan suite has a kitchen with a full fridge and gas stove. It came with glass and dishware, which came in handy. Prior to arriving, we had picked up dish soap and a sponge from Walmart, but the hotel does provide a cleaning pad.
The bathroom was spacious
