I visit Killarney regularly but this was my first stay in this hotel so I was a little apprehensive. My stay turned out to be quite pleasant and comfortable. A good sized room which was very clean. After I retired for the night people arrived in the room next door and I could hear their conversation as though they were in the room with me. Thankfully the conversation ended very quickly and all was quiet. Also I intended to spend a couple of hours in the bar/restaurant but could not order food at 8.40 pm even though the kitchen was not due to close until 9pm. So I had just one drink and left. Generally a good stay.

Very disappointed
I was very disappointed with my stay At this hotel. The rooms were much smaller than we imagined, nothing like the pictures we saw when we were booking it. The door nearly hits off the bottom of the bed as you walk into the room. It was very dirty and therefore uncomfortable, I found myself going around trying to clean everything. Even the light switches were really dirty, they were sticky. The table had crumbs on it and then toilet seat had also not been cleaned. It was obvious they only changed the bedding and that was it. Additionally the walls are so thin you can hear everything. Our room was located on the third floor right beside the cleaners storage closet and at 9am she started working, she began by hoovering the hall (at 9am, waking everyone!!!), you go to a hotel to relax and enjoy a sleep in not to get woken up by the cleaners. She then placed her trolley against the wall out side our room, we could hear every move she made. And she kept hitting against the wall. Then around 30mins later another colleague came down to her and the two of them spoke very loudly outside our bedroom for about 45 minutes! We could hear nearly every world they were saying making it impossible to fall back to sleep. In all I would definitely not recommend this hotel. The location is the only benefit of staying here.

Food was fabulous and staff were very nice but did not like the entrance to the car park very tight trying to get in.Also room was very dated and stuffy don't think I will be returning.

Location is perfect. Room was big and clean, bed was super comfy. We stayed for our anniversary and let the hotel know this in advance, we thought they would do something nice for us but we didn't get as much as a happy anniversary wish from any member of staff. This was ok, but what really ruined the stay was the amount of rude staff in the downstairs bar and restaurant on the Tbursday night. We waoted for a seat dor 20 minutes and did not get even a hello from any member of staff. We eventually got seated and waited another 10 minutes for a menu. We were left waiting again for 15 minutes without any service so we walked out and went to a different restaurant where we received better service. Managers need to train their staff in being polite, nothing but rude young staff standing around joking with eachother seeong us waiting at the door and not even acknowledging us. Parking at the hotel is limited to 10 spaces so you need to park elsewhere and pay for it at €1 p/h. I'd stay again but would not visit the bar or restaurant due to the poor attitudes of staff.

Disappointing Stay For a regular customer
We were very disappointed with the hotel. We would regularly be in killarney and have stayed in the Best Western Hotel many times but this time was not great. Firstly the room we were put in was absolutely terrible, lino floor with a big hump in the floor, cold room, curtain pole hanging down and unable to close the curtain and took about 10 minutes to get warm water from the shower. Now in fairness to the girl in reception, she gave us a better room the following day. We arrived in to the bar later that night which was quiet to get some food and a drink. After being rushed to make our order at 9:45 we were still sitting at the table at 10:20 waiting for the drinks. The service was terrible. The manager though was very apologetic and sorted it out but overall the stay was disappointing

Family break
We arrived at 1pm with our luggage to see if we could check in. We knew from the website that check in time was 4pm. We were told by the receptionist that no rooms would be ready until 4pm. We were fine with that and asked if we could leave our luggage. We were told that due to Covid19 they were unable to hold our luggage. I am not sure what Covid19 had to do with our luggage. At dinner the waitress who guided us to our booked table left us there with no menus. She came back 15 minutes later to take our order. She then went and got us 4 menus. The menus were given to my husban, me, my 3&5 year olds. They had no kids menu on them. Another waitress arrived to take our order and i asked for the kids menu.. she had to go get them. There was cutlery and plates left on table from previous customers. When our food arrived we had to ask for new cutlery. The food was poor. Breakfast was poor too. Could not eat the scrambled eggs I ordered as they were inedible. The staff in reception and at breakfast were really friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location and has a car park. The room was comfortable.
