We wanted to love this place. And some of it was great. But for the money, my expectations were high, and there were some misses for us. The goods and the bads are below:
Goods:
- location is terrific.
- loved the bikes and beach chairs and beach towels. Makes it easy to be a visitor who flew into the area and couldn’t load up the car.
- Lots of cool history around the hotel
- cookies were great
- shower was upgraded and lovely
- outdoor area was lovely as well. We used the fire pit and couches almost every day.
Bads:
- breakfast was fine but there was no variety. Every day was yogurt, quiche, and a pastry. It was fine but three days in a row was a lot of the same.
- OUR BED was awful. The bedding was nice and soft and definitely better than your standard Hampton Inn sheets but the bed creaked every time one of us moved even an inch. EVERY TIME. It was some of the worst sleep we had because of it.
- we arrived in the rain and there was no one even there to help us with our things. We walked around the building and were pretty wet once we made it inside. At $650+ per night, a person with an umbrella would have been nice, especially since I was texting with them about when we were arriving.
- the towels were rough. Not fluffy. Depends on what experience you want for your money.
We will likely look for another place to stay if we return just based on the value for the price.
