It is a national sports training center. It is surrounded by immaculate soccer and tennis fields. The rooms are functional, but very comfortable and spotless. The restaurant is superb. We lucked out and landed there on a weekend where the place was - literally - empty. We had the whole place to ourselves. The pool is beautiful, although the slides are not really functional - the last bit is so flat the kids would stop sliding before the water.
The staff were incredibly attentive, particularly in the dining room. I had never had my coke poured for me like fine wine - quite the experience. And they basically kept the dining room open all day just for us, as wandered in and out.
The prices - via Expedia - gave good value. The one down side occurred just as we checked out. A young staff member "forgot" the Expedia prices, and tried to charge me more. I told him what the correct price was, and offered to show him the Expedia emails. He backed off. Then he tried to tell me, just before we left, that the cost of doing two loads of our laundry would not be $20 Canadian - as the cleaning staff had told me - but rather $200. He blamed this on a "misunderstanding". He wanted this in cash. I told him that was absurd, put our bags in the taxi, then came back and gave him $20 and walked away.
