We spent four nights using the lodge as a base of visiting Kruger Park. It is spacious and clean, but the combination of load shedding ( not the owner’s fault) and a lack of hot water for two whole days and no water at all for our first night, made for a less than satisfactory experience, The furniture is old and in need of refurbishing, there are no window screens, so the choice was to close everything up to keep the insects out and use the ceiling fans, or to open the windows for air and let the mosquitoes in as well. The wifi was on again, off again. The host was friendly and the general amenities were OK, but in our opinion, this was not good value for the money we paid. The fact that it is a twenty minute drive to the park gate was a positive.
