It's a bit of a funny story. I was going to visit Peru after an absence of 11 years. I wanted to have dinner with a family and I asked the lady to recommend a hotel to me. She said there was a nice hotel, El Tovar, near her home. I went straight to the internet, found a hotel with a similar name, and booked it through Expedia. The next morning when she failed to show up to have breakfast with me, I called her and she was waiting for me at the other hotel. The owner and manage, Joseph, was so nice to me that when I returned to Lima on my way back to the USA, I stayed there again, this time intentionally. It's an older hotel and could do with some upgrades but Joseph and his staff make up for any deficiencies. I'd stay there again without any hesitation. Right across the street is a lovely park like area where people are strolling along or sitting on park benches. Sound good? Try it the next time you're in Lima.
