It felt a little strange not to have a front desk. The security guard did not know why I was there and it took some time to get it all figured out. The "owners" of the "hotel" rooms in this Apartment building are very nice and eager to help, once you find them! I was there during the earthquake of Feb, 2010, and the building held up spectacularly-only very minor damage. So if you're worried about earthquakes, this building is okay. The room had a nice kitchenette which was great, because eating out every night in the Bellavista neighborhood can be expensive. It also had a television and a warm shower. Much better than my last room in Santiago. The location is great. It's in Bellavista, walking distance to the Santiago Center and the subway. If you speak Spanish, and you're looking for a great deal-this is it. If you don't speak Spanish, it may be a little frustrating, as you'll have trouble explaining to the security guard what you are doing at this "Apartment" building. Once you find the owners, you'll have no problem and you will have a chance to meet a lot of very nice local Santiago-ans on the many elevator rides. Overall-I liked it! and would stay there again, especially now that I know the situation. Oh, by the way, there is a fantastic patio on the roof of the building with 2 pools, barbeques, and beatiful panoramic views of Santiago and the surrounding mountains.
