Cobblestone streets wind beneath the watchful gaze of a 13th-century castle perched dramatically above the Neckar River. Students from Germany's oldest university bring youthful energy to this baroque wonderland. Marvel at the world's largest wine barrel inside Heidelberg Castle before crossing the picturesque Karl Theodor Bridge. The Philosophers' Walk offers views that have inspired poets and thinkers for centuries. Duck into the Church of the Holy Spirit between café stops, or visit the quirky Student Jail where scholarly troublemakers were once detained. Riverside cafés serve local wines as the setting sun bathes the castle ruins in golden light. The perfect blend of medieval romance and lively university atmosphere makes even a short visit memorable.
"Hotel was clean, quiet and staff were great. A little far from old Heidelberg but a 9 stop ride on Tram 26 makes it easy to get back and forth in less than 15mins.
Travelling with a family of four and our room had two large single bunk beds for the kids and one queen for the parents. The price of our room was super cheap for two nights.
Had breakfast on the second day it is was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel for a family. "
"Nice clean comfortable room in a great location. Busses and trams to the Altstadt or train station stop right outside the front door. There is a very nice market and bakery right next door. The parking facility was excellent."
"This hotel was such a luxurious experience for us. We loved the gym, the breakfast, the location and the staff. It was very pleasant. Highly recommend."
