Sanibel Island and Captiva Island are two islands off the coast of Florida that offer wildly different attractions, from peace and solitude to a more party atmosphere. Captiva Island is the place for you if you’re looking to just get away from it all and relax in peace. This spot is famed for Turner Beach with its great seashell collecting opportunities, as well as the outstanding Key lime pie at Keylime Bistro, and the dining opportunities at the Bubble Room with an eclectic menu and quirky décor with antiques, amusement props and memorabilia.

On Sanibel Island, you’ll find a more exciting and vibrant vibe with tons of shopping and dining choices available on Periwinkle Way, the main drag. Cycling paths also circle the island, and bicycle hires are available at several facilities across the island. Lighthouse Park Beach features the historic Sanibel Lighthouse with its panoramic views. On the island’s other end, visitors can explore a 6,400-acre national wildlife refuge as well as the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum.
